The boy looks drowsy and sleepy early
in the morning but he is trying to hold his sister. The painting on the left
which was painted in golden frame makes the whole composition more interesting
and it carries the mood.
I recollect one of whistlers painting
“Arrangement in grey and black no 1” or the alternative title “whistler mother”
because of the painting inside the painting.
